Since most of our characters are in the range of 5th-9th level, all new characters start at 3rd level.  This is high enough so they will be able to catch up in a reasonable amount of time and low enough so that you still have to spend time building up the character and you care about him/her/it.

Rolling a new character is done as follows.  To roll each stat, roll 4d6 and pick the three highest dice.  Add the numbers on these 3 dice and the result is a score.  You are free to to distribute scores as you see feet to Str, Int, Wis, Dex, Con, and Cha.  '''Min-maxing''' (trade two points of one score to add one point for another) is not allowed.

All dice rolls have to be witnessed by Halifax so we don't end up with monsters like [[Harald]] again.  (Seriously, his stats are sooo made-up).

* Alternatively, you can come up with a set of stats you want/like and have Halifax approve it.  (You get additional bonus if you are a girl as Halifax is unable to say no to girls.)
