Riding high on the successes of the previous day, the [[Danger Gang]] looks forward to another day of unprecedented success with the help of their new companions, [[Tobin]] and [[Karp]]. While [["Father" Simon|Arben]] and [[Ramble]] are content to loaf around [[Thessaloniki]], [[Martialis]] cautions them that their friends need treatment. If they ride out to the healing temple at [[Pella]], they might be able to nutralize the poison and prevent their friends' conditions from worsening. Everyone agrees, especially considering how nobody wants to sit around watching the paint dry. They mount up and begin riding north along the river, bringing along the zombified duo of [[Lleryn]] and Brother [[Peter]].

They arrive outside Pella just before nightfall. Unfortunately, it seems like it's on the other side of the river. The river is about a hundred feet wide and too deep to navigate. Martialis asks a bird if he knows a way for them to cross the river other than flying. The bird indicates that there might be a way for land-standers to cross at the mouth of the river, about five days away. Martialis seems really anxious to cross the river and get into Pella, but Arben urges the tempestuous youth that they know not what dangers await them there under the cover of night, and that it's best to make camp and give it a go in the morning.
