smp: Lleryn of the Chrysopolis Party encountered Habogad on his final journey. Habogad healed Lleryn and asked him in return to find Hannah and Jean-Claude and to tell them that he had been forgiven for his heresies. Apparently he had realized an error, and upon realization was accepted again by God. He said that he'd earlier thought that the Serpent was as old as God, or some such. This made little sense to Lleryn, who is not on good terms with Christian belief. But he listened. Apparently after Prometheus stole the fire (of immortality), he somehow gave it (?) to a donkey. The donkey, continuing on, came to some water which had a snake in it. The donkey was thirsty from carrying the fire, but the snake forbid the donkey to drink. The donkey traded the fire for a drink of the water, and proof that the snake has it yet is the snake's practice of shedding its skin: so it lives eternally (unless you manage to grab its tail or head and give it a good snap, Lleryn notes). Then Habogad mentioned a bunch of things that Lleryn only partially made sense of:
- Eelion ?
- Prometheus = satan
- The snake is *of* God. God made the snake, and all this happened well after creation, so the snake is not as old as God. That's what he'd been wrong about before.
- serpent = behemoth = leviathan
- something about eating feces. Lleryn disregarded that, as it's a bad idea unless you're a rabbit
... Lleryn passed this on to Eorl, as Eorl seemed to know details about Hannah and Jean-Claude including that Lleryn was unlikely to find them soon and that the tale may pertain to current events.
