Chris: It wouldn't have thought of that. Eyes of the Deep (Eye of the Deeps?) are dumb. It would have been all like "Puny mermaids with legs, me blind you! Aahh! Me blind! Me pincers am useless!" I don't care if the compendium lists their intelligence as "Very". They are clearly stupid.

Why have a bestiary when you just look up monsters in the compendium? I rather thought this was strongly frowned upon.

Noah: It is. To the extent, however, that Hal likely tailors TSR monsters to the realm, and also creates his own from whole cloth, we still need a bestiary. Besides, it is nobody's fault that Chris has the entire monster manual committed to memory.
