ET: Also, I changed your chapter format as a suggestion. I think it'll be easier than what you're currently doing, plus we'd be able to skip down to a specific section from the table of contents and you could also link directly to a section. If you don't like the set up, change it back.

tcm: "Uh, I didn't write any of the above." well, that's weird (it was probably Maggie; it sounds like her anyway). but anyways, Reynaldo would agree to the ship's owner bit, as well as Wong carrying the boat (that does make sense; it won't matter who holds it if Wong dies, so she might as well carry it) with one condition: she puts it down before any and all duels. no sense in it getting broken while you're fencing or whatever.<br>

ET: Yeah, obviously it's a party item. It's just that we need to have some sort of chain of command to present to NPCs. It's insulting that you even feel the need to bring the point up when Wong has never been covetous of magical items and Rey insists on carrying almost all non-weapon party items and is clearly covetous of magical items. secondly, i remember telling somebody that we'd have to set sail from an honest-to-God harbor because it's almost impossible to sail a big ship from a beach, thereby drawing attention to ourselves. but i'd forgotten this thing can turn into a small boat too. we take the Valgae Leya out from a beach in its small boat form until we're far enough away from the coast and then turn into a big ship. it should be okay to stand in the small boat and then say the magic word; we'll just end up on the deck of the big ship. unfortunately, there probably won't be enough room on the small boat for all of us and we forgot to ask the dwarf if the big ship came with lifeboats or the like (although since we haven't technically left the Chamber of the 12 Doors, we can still ask him these things, just to be absolutely sure).

Reynaldo would like you all to learn how to sail (except Moishe, because of his infirmity, and maybe Wong, so that she can keep up her owner guise [if, in fact, this is what the party decides to do]) so that we can sail this boat without taking on a crew.

On Why Reynaldo Should be Captain of the Valgae Leya

Mostly, Reynaldo is the best sailor in this party. He has sailed with an actual ship before, and Wong can attest to Reynaldo's skills from when they were stuck on those damnable (yet, so delicious) islands.

I know what you're all going to say: "Reynaldo's just going to go power mad." This is not true. Making Reynaldo captain of the Valgae Leya would not make him de facto leader of the party. It just means that while we're sailing, you should all listen to Reynaldo when he says hoist the mizzenmast, drop anchor, and all that other sailor speak. He will need a first mate, and he plans on teaching you all how to properly sail. He's going to buy a sextant so that he can sail with the stars and all. Any and all destinations will still be arrived at by consensus.

What I'm saying is: please make Reynaldo the captain of the Valgae Leya.

That is all.

On Why Wong Should be Captain

The damn boat is tied to her lifeforce and so on. If she dies, no boat. Thus she should be captain, since her idea got you the boat in the first place anyways. Plus Cap'n Wong sounds cooler than Cap'n Reynaldo, which is just gay.

tcm: so, what you're saying is that Reynaldo should kill Wong before we leave Kevel, and then go back into the Chamber and tie the Valgae Leya to his life force. also, it must be mentioned that Reynaldo gave up his silver piece to make the thing even.

ET: Uh, I didn't write any of the above. Wong thinks it'd be pretty nifty to be called Cap'n, but admits that Rey is the only sailor here. However, merchant vessels often have owners who hire someone else to captain their ships. Wong would agree to Rey calling himself the Captain with two conditions: 1) Wong carries the box. Aside from the ship being tied to her lifeforce, Rey tends to carry way too many party items and then running off and doing risky things. 2) Every time that Rey introduces himself as Captain, he must also introduce Wong as ship's owner. That way, Rey can't pull anything dependent on other people thinking the ship's totally his. Wong isn't overly concerned about Rey letting the power go to his head since watching him try to get the rest of the party to obey him will be funnier than watching obnoxious Kevelian women pee their skirts and run away.

ET: Also, I changed your chapter format as a suggestion. I think it'll be easier than what you're currently doing, plus we'd be able to skip down to a specific section from the table of contents and you could also link directly to a section. If you don't like the set up, change it back.
