Chris: Well, according to traditional D&D wisdom, [[Lloth]] was a member of the [[Seldarine]], in charge of the Drow, who were some type of elves different from other elves. Who knows? But they all got along, but Lloth was jealous of Corelan Letharian and tried to over throw him. Didn't pan out. So Corelan banished her and her brood to the Underdark. They still want to usurp. I don't know if any characters know this, or if it's true in this game, but that's the old fashioned Forgotten Realms set-up, as I understand it.

ET: Unless there's information that hasn't come to light, what we know is that [[Orm's Moorish Allies]] have only wiped out [[Reynaldo]]'s village, (and obviously the wrong 99% of it). They have stated that they don't hate elves, pointing out themselves that their Caliph is half-elvish. It makes sense for Rey to think they're out for genocide, but is there anything that you, tcm, know for sure about additional slaughtering of elves? I think the obvious issue with the [[Lost Elven City]] is that they're sitting on top of a Hellmouth, and just about any group of beings will start worshipping the local bigwig. (e.g."Hail Korminack!")

Kerry: The elves of old were quite different from their modern kin, as we learned in an Elven palace trapped in time in Northern Africa. There was a war in olden times between Lloth and Corelan Letharian, resulting in Corelan blasting the Lloth worshippers' homeland, turning it into the Sea of Glass. There are evil Lloth-worshipping elves even among the blue-skinned Free People, or Tuareg, to whom the laws of God(s) do not apply. Another hell mouth rests beneath the glass sea. "Going West" was not always a geographical journey, but perhaps a spiritual or planar one in times of yore. The modern elves have forgotten much.

tcm: why does everyone think elves are exctinct?

why are Orm's Moorish Allies concerned where elves go when they're old (the West, as they say), and more importantly, why are they killing off elves all over the place if their Caliph is half elf?

why do the elves in the Lost Elven City worship the Spider Goddess instead of the good gods?
