July 27 :
We let Yodit know we are ready to go get those angels. We cast our various preparatory spells, with help from Adaraz and Hadneya. Hadneya also had a very good dream last night, and seems much more optimistic about the encounter. We pile a bunch of dirt on top of the entrance and transmute some mud to stone to create a big stone plug. We then create a wall of stone around us, making a little stone hut.
July 28 :
5 am - 6 am : We enter our hut, all ready and glowing with magical enhancements. Adaraz, Hadneya, Yodit and Nelenteyos have gathered to cast some final spells and wish us good luck. Just before the last spell is cast, we all raise our weapons and... hit Nelenteyos with everything we've got. Harald and Agav take him out in a few blows, Hadneya is Held and Adaraz falls to his knees and begs for mercy. Ailyll uses a dust devil to scoop up what's left of Nelenteyos, and everyone else turns on Yodit. We have nearly beat her to unconciousness when a little voice from a corner calls out "A boon! A boon! Grant me a boon and I shall turn things to your favor!". Harald sees a very small, fat little woman in the corner, Yodit opens her mouth and we quickly knock her unconcious. We chat with the little lady for a while, whose name is Yosera, but she seems reluctant to tell us what boon it is she wishes of us, so we decide that things are already sufficiently in our favor and tell her no thanks. She turns to water and melts through the solid stone ground. We tie up our captives and prepare to leave the hut. Harald changes his already enlarged self to resemble a fiery angel, picks up Yodit, and flies away towards our inn. He deposits Yodit at Miriam's feet, proclaming that she has been "struck down by God as a favor for Harald". Unfortunately, Miriam only has a moment to be impressed.
Back at the hut, Nelenteyos has reformed himself and escaped from his dust devil. We beat him down again, but just before we finish him off he yells "A boon! I shall grant you a boon!". We all find ourselves in a nice spacious chamber with two rather upset looking fiery angels. We run as fast as we can for the door, trying to think pure thoughts and not covet the arc too much. We miraculously make it out the door, and quickly try to stone shape our way out of there. Ailyll barely manages to finish her stone shape as she is hit in the face with a cone of cold, and a very large Yosera flies down and blocks our exit. She tells us that the only way she'll let us out is if we come bearing the heads of the angels. We decide we'd rather fight her, and narrowly make it out alive. We hear the sounds of fighting outside, and soon Hadneya and Karmi come in. We tell them we have no quarrell with them, and we negotiate a truce, though Karmi looks like he'd much rather just eat Harald.
While the party has been taking out the old guard, Abubec has been busy repelling an attack by some Djinn (in fact, a Noble Dao, a Noble Efreet, and a bunch of Jann. She then proclaimes herself Queen when Yodit fails to show up.
6:30 - 3 pm : rest and heal. Harald marries Miriam.
3 pm - 5 pm : we finish our coup and meet Abubec. She casts Confusion on most of the party and her bodyguards take down Harald. He negotiates with her, taking a Geas to the effect that she has veto power over policy decisions, and she gets to genocide the Bocor with state support. Harald appoints her Grand Vizier and then is hailed as King Harald I of Abyssinia.
