Chris: Wait, what? In that case, when Arben finds out about this, he gathers up the local adventurers and delivers the following rant: "So I'm going through the inn today, thinking about re-decorating the rooms, when I find this room full boy bard band posters and teddy owl-bears. I guess Helena lives here. Look, any body that's staying under my roof is either paying me or getting paid by me. So she's going to work; professional student. I know as governor, Halcyon, you're against public education, so I'll be paying for it. She gets one gold a week plus lodging if she attends each of the following two hour classes once per week: Reading and History with Leo, fighting with Xenon (start with a sling, something appropriate for a young lady), manners and social graces with Arben, and "the trade" from Eorl. This seems like a fine curriculum for young girl to be groomed for a life of adventuring. However, should she not be interested, she can receive a silver a week plus lodging for busing tables. What say you gents?"

Noah: Eorl says, "sounds like a plan to me. She still gonna empty the cat boxes? It also keeps her mind off... you know, her tragic circumstances.  Anyway; she's seems to enjoy taking care of the cats. Oh, yeah, and she's been attending literacy classes with me already... sometimes she, uh, helps me with my homework."

Kerry: Don't forget Undead Michael, who saved her life once before, and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Hal: Does Helena really live on the streets? Doesn't she live in the governor's mansion?

Noah: She totally gets room and board for her hard work; this entry is cat-libel. She probably has so-called "play-dates" with the Crazy Old Cat Lady though, which might require some scrounging in garbage cans, spit-shining hummel figurines, etc.
