The city was built by a man named Hamdam, who became fabulously wealthy due to following his dreams. He used his wealth to build Naowobad, and his jeweled palace was the centerpiece. As his dreams built the city, it is called the City of Dreams. All who sleep within its walls are said to have prophetic dreams.
