Shortly after midnight, a nine armed Modron appears and demands to have B The Beholder delivered to him. He and Arben have a prolonged legal discussion, which I won't bore you with. The Modron grants that Arben has some valid points (though admonishes him for his lack of initiative in getting paperwork), and is welcome to file for an appeal. B tells him that odds are good that the paperwork for the appeal could last well into the next century. The Danger Gang counter-offers that they would be the ones to keep the prisoner until the appeals trial. This is not satisfactory for the Modron, and a great battle ensues. When I say a great battle, I mean a long and boring battle. The Modron whips up nine Mirror Images and Slows everybody down. Kerasa Reduces him, and consequently, the damage he can do. The fight drags on and on. Some Giant Leeches that Arben summoned prove surprisingly effective, as they don't need to worry about his seemingly endless supply of Mirror Images once they latch on. Eventually they take care of this jerk. He disappears in a poof of smoke, leaving behind a stack of papers. They say they need to be filed between August 25th and September 25.

Arben tucks them in his bags and they return to the boat.
