So Dust is not the smartest member of the team—she knows it, and is comfortable with the fact that she has other qualities of use. She thinks she could go toe to toe with any fighter in the party, and, if Konnack or Montpar managed to beat her, well, it would be a close fight. She is also really fast, and is the only one both strong and trustworthy enough to carry the party’s loot She may lack brains, but she has “horse sense.” What she doesn’t appreciate is the fact that some people she could name take her for granted, and assume, for example, that the Jacinth should be given to her because she’s the only one who wouldn’t miss a point of intelligence. Well, she took that bullet, and now she wears the Jacinth, and now she’s pretty powerful. She’s like to see people try to mess with her now; now she’s not just a fighter. They gave her the Jacinth because the underestimated her, but no one’s going to underestimate her again.

Konnack and Morning Star are good people who never condescend to her (and Konnack condescends to everyone); she’s known Morning Star a long time, and loves and trusts her. Asuidal Asuidal is okay, too, although she’s clearly not what she pretends she is—is she even really a druid? But everyone else s a condescending jerk, and if they try to push Dust around, they had better watch out, because she has artifact now, so she is now the most powerful member of the party, and Bobby and Clock Zoo are not so tough. This is Dust’s time to shine.
