The pirates treated her with respect and admiration, even giving her a cabin to herself and the lofty title of Navigator. When sailing she seemed to always have a sextant in her hand, using it to correct the course constantly. She was given a chance to leave after a year, but she elected to stay instead. She became one of the [[Widows]], and life was good to her. Well, she did have a minor setback when a crazy Irishman cut off her hand during a sea battle, but her shipmates helped to mount a sextant that could take its place. That wasn't so bad.
