After a comperatively quiet night's sleep, the Danger Gang leaves the hovel they were camping out in, in Pella. The next stop on their self guided tour is the small temple outside the city walls to the South. They begin exploring, finding some 200 year old Byzantine coins and a broken bench. In another room they find a basin with blood in it and the inscription Darron above it. Arben recognizes the names as that of a Macedonian healing god or angel. Something. There's also a set of bloody footprints leading away from the basin. They try to follow it, but their lack of tracking ability prevents them from following even these rudimentary tracks. Karp casts Detect Magic, and is almost immediately overcome by the blinding glow of the basin. He clues them in that this is what they're looking for. It's agreed that Arben and Martialis will be the ones to sacrifice themselves for their comrades. Karp blushes at this posibility. Wanting no parts of these pagan magics, he leaves the room.

Ramble decides to test out the basin. He slices open his arm, and bleeds a little into it. He wills that Martialis be healed, but to no avail. Only when he's struck with the inspiration to splash a little of the blood on Martialis, does the magic of the temple make itself evident. Martialis is healed as much as Ramble has been damaged. "OK," says Arben. "I'll go first, but only because I'm the leader, I want you guys to know that. I'm leading by example." He leans over the basin and draws his dagger. taking a deep breath, he plunges the dagger into his neck. "Oh god! Oh lord," he wails. The blood pours out of him in a great volumes. "Oh, I'm getting cold. Oh boy. Oh boy." Soon he has bled enough into the basin. Wearily, he takes the blood and splashes it at Brother Peter, willing him the poisons within him to be gone. Dried husks of creeper seedlings fall out of his head orrifices, and Arben breathes a sigh of relief. He quickly wraps a cloth around his neck to stop the bleeding, and Martialis casts a few Cure Light Wounds on him. Despite being free of the influence of the nefarious seedling, Brother Peter still stands dumb and drooling. Arben stumbles outside to ask Karp to grant him further healing. Karp is hesitant to use the miracles granted him by God to help those who would barter with pagan magics, but Arben pleads that they save the theological discussion for later. Karp begrudgingly heals him.

Now it's Martialis' turn. He situatiates himself infront of the basin and draws his scythe. He drags the curved blade across his neck and the blood begins to flow. He bears the pain stoically as his blood spurts into the basin at a steadily slowing rhythm. He grits his teeth as he approaches unconsciousness, but is able to bind his wound before he bleeds out. He splashes the blood at Lleryn. and the seedlings of the Yellow Musk Creeper fall out of his skull.

Martialis and Arben laugh at their foolish bravery and light-headedness. Everyone heads back to the room in the temple of Aphrodite with the statue to rest till the next day.
