Kudrun is the product of a brief encounter between a dashing elven adventurer and a young Volgar Bulgar maiden with a rather low wisdom. Kudrun's mom's reputation was shattered, and she followed up with a series of "temporary marriages" to earn her keep. Kudrun was bullied and tormented throughout her youth, and she seemed to make a lot of poor choices that resulted in her getting in fights. She got tough, and learned to hate her village and its inhabitants, her mother most of all. She ran away from home when her mom started suggesting that Kudrun pull her own weight and join the family business. She survived by stealing food and occasionally eating gruel in prison. After some time she joined on with a pirate crew in the Euxine on a dare. While onboard a fellow pirate bet Kudrun 30gp that she couldn't keep her foot in the water for 10 minutes. He didn't realize that she had stepped on a broken rum bottle the night before. She knew, but didn't stop to think of the consequences. She lost her leg, but won the bet. Eventually she joined up with the Widows, rising to become their Captain of Marines. Her friends call her Scorpion, because you basically have to hit her before she realizes you are a threat.
