The Danger Gang Auxiliary Raid Castle Dumetrescu
At around noon-ish, the Danger Gang Auxiliary leap onto the roof of Castle Dumetrescu. This is actually when it happened. They make a beeline for the tower in the south east corner. Olybrius picks a lock on a shuttered window. Inside, there's a Will 'o Wisp ready to fight. Cyril and Xenon step up to the plate and take him out. They start rushing down the stairs and come to a small room full of crates. Xenon opens one up to find it full of old timey lady's clothes. Unfortunately, there is also a spider in there that bites him, giving him some muscle spasms. They seal the crate back up and continue exploring the attic.
In the next room, the floor is just rafters over slats. They can hear Cardinal Valentine canoodling with some ladies in the room below. They try and keep quiet, but it's tough in full suits of armor. They spy another room. Inside they find a woman, horrible mutilated and chained to a wall. She has no eyes, tongue, hands or feet. There is a chalk circle around her and a bowl of delicious smelling foot just outside her grasp. She's also surrounded by snakes. Arben quickly identifies these snakes as Sticks to Snakes brand snakes. He quickly Dispells them. Olybrius picks the locks and they tell her they're getting her out of here. A quick conference agrees that this was pretty much all the treasure they could hope for, and they decide to book. As they exit her prison, Olybrius gets caught in a Blade Barrier, sort of chumping him out, but he survives. Across the attic, they spy the source: a pair of ladies. One is a school girl in uniform, with giant hands, gesturing and mumbling. The other is a proper school marm, with a sword, who points at us and says, "detention isn't over for that one." This pretty much confirms their suspicions that this woman is the missing Ileana.
"Let's get this corny bitch!" they cry, and a fight ensues. The girl has some kind of creepy heart squeezing power, while the lady is pretty strong. They both have magic items on them, the school marm wearing a hat with the illusion school, while her sword is of the necromantic school. The girl has a ring with the protection school. The girl can also squeeze people's hearts from a distance like Darth Vader (he could do that right? Probably).
Strange thing about this school marm, she doesn't bleed. Hit with the scythe of wounding, her body just expells air and dust. Wirshin starts Stoneshaping a hole in the angled roof and people start breaking out of there. Olybrius gives the high sign to Ubra. Arben starts rolling around a Flaming Sphere to set the floor on fire. In response, the school marm detaches her head from her body. That's pretty crazy. Once people are cleared out, Arben lets out a Thunderstaff, knocking back his opponents. They hop on Ubra's back and he flies them out of there. Arben drops a note simply reading, "Dear Kosmina, I'm sorry it turned out this way. I had hoped we could be friends. Sincerely, Arben".
They return to Ubra's cave and Wirshin instantly starts badgering poor Ileana, "What do you dream about? Where's the item in question?" hoping that she can nod or shake her head and lead them to the Boysenberry. She's still in shock. Gebertus and Manole show up; great! They say the plan went great. Al-Wathiq was super pissed when the fake B.S. got destroyed, and last he saw he was getting into some serious high-level fighting with Hakim and Heliogolobulus. Heliogolobulus was looking for the nearest bathhouse while Hakim was detaching his head when Gebertus and Manole Teleported away. There is much hand shaking and congratulating eachother on a job well done. Gebertus explains that the remaining council of nine has now probably collapsed into piles of bones. He also says he'd be happy to teleport them back to Chrysopolis, but he only has one left and he needs to go somewhere else first. The Gang agrees to go with him (though Wirshin is hesitant to leave the Boysenberry behind).
They give Ubra Luanna's old bejeweled armor and tell him to consider the rewards available to those who dedicate their lives to good, or at the very least, neutrality. With that, Gebertus Teleports everyone to...
Alexandria; city of wonders! They find themselves atop a tower, and are soon greeted by a squirrely looking guy named Thudiyee. The guy wants to play dice, but Gebertus says we shouldn't trust him. He might try to eat their brains (he's a Son of Proteus).
Gebertus introduces the gang to Elias, the Patriarch of Alexandria and all around reasonable (if unremarkable) seeming guy. They invite us to hang out in the study until dawn. Gebertus rushes off into the night to do his business, and Olybrius decides to tail him.
Gebertus heads down to the docks, and spends a lonely night in vigil down at the docks. At dawn, he turns away, dejected.
