As boring and wretched a place it is, there is still lore that exists in the plane of shadows. There are stories of fools who, somehow, attain treat fortune and also great wisdom along the way. I always wondered if there was revisionism in these stories. These people were fools, then through happenstance in a morally arbitrary universe, they happened upon some fortune. The thought would be abhorrent to most, so they just write wisdom, virtue, or whatever else into the fool’s character to explain it away.

My suspicion has been confirmed. The danger gang are, in fact, just these fools. They bluster into situations where they should be destroyed and somehow emerge unscathed time and again. Even in the face of sage advice they’ll forge ahead in the least well thought through way imaginable. If I know anything about luck though, even if you have cocked dice, it’ll run out at some point.

Diogenes is dead. The magic users are bereft of magic and nearly dead themselves. Why? Because after working hard to solve a puzzle, they just gave the information away without getting anything in return. Always have a plan, always have a bargaining chip, and always make a bargain. If I hadn’t have grabbed that punk Gwyn’s scimitar from his stunned body and taken out Vettle myself they’d all be dead. If I know anything I’ll be getting more attitude than gratitude from ‘em though. They’ll blame me for the death of Diogenes.

Time to make new arrangements. Still, if lady luck does smile on these lunatics it would be a good idea to remain on good terms with them.
