On the 12th we teleport to Quiteria's convent, check on things there then head off to Rome. We hear that Pope John 15 was not actually dead, and Bruno is in exile somewhere.

Quiteria takes a small party into the papal palace. There she is met by Bishop Johannes, who tells us that Richard, son of Odo has disappeared - he was last seen a week ago at St. Maximus Abbey. He also makes some completely unsubstantiated claims about Quiteria's conduct and is generally unpleasant. We get the following divination(s?) on the subject:

Don’t want to sound like I’m a hater
 But Jews are known for sitting seder;
Let’s not pass over those who use
 Rituals older than the Jews
A triangle will mark the halls
 Beneath which even fire’s false.

You know makes you holler “suxor”?
Where there’s a Karnak but no Luxor.
Far north from center sea’s alluvial
 Soil, past related fears salluvial
 A journey of a handful’s day
With evil, we will meet halfway.

Later that same evening we go to a happy dinner party at the Chrisentius's. Man does grandpa look... dead... They want us to not do the Pope's mission, and also kill the Pope.

We spend the night at Quiteria's Convent. Around midnight the skelekitty guard catches some were-rats sneaking around. Dawa tracks them, they met up with a Satyr or some similar hooved biped, then disappear. A brief scry shows us the Myra Sisters with a creepy elfish guy.

The next day we return to Rome and make a fuss until Quiteria is given an audience with the Pope himself. The Pope looks much healthier than when we last saw him, and his attendants all look somewhat cowed. He tells us that there is indeed a perfect model of the universe in Rome, though others were recently using it and may have left a guard. He implies that it would be nice if someone were to go kill that guard. We get directions and divine some more.

Talk to circle, talk to square.
Odds are that you’ll have to share.
But if on this plane you reside,
 Distracting thoughts of homicide
Or suicide or both or neither
May make it hard to chart the ether.
 When lifting off the tarmac,
the place you'll want to go is Carnac.

We follow the Pope's directions and find some Modrons tinkering with the model, guarded by some elves and a monster. We fight, shrink the model and run off with it.

Back at the boat we successfully pull off Chu Yan's swap. We then talk to the Modrons and agree to share the model(currently stored in a pocket dimension) with them until we are done with it.
