Maidens

The Following Alexander Party recently freed a bevy of beauties from teh Castle of Maidens. Here's a list:

• Basma, cousin of the Emir of Aleppo
• Beiruzo, a very hot Arab woman
• Chiyono, who speaks no language that anyone knows
• Cleantha, sister of the Pope
• Dolores, a princess of the elves of Iberia
• Elsbietka, daughter of the Duke of Poland
• Gaidaa, daughter of the king of Morocco
• Gretchen, cousin of the Holy Roman Emperor
• Gwynn, daughter of the king of Galatea
• Huiling, daughter of the Chinese(ie, Southern Song) Emperor
• Izdihaar, sister of the Caliph
• Kannaki, daughter of the Tamil king
• Miriam, daughter of the king of Ethiopia
• Pharat, a winged girl who can turn into small animals. She speaks no known language, and refers to herself as a "Tavada".
• Rebhid, daughter of the king of Zaghawa, a region in Chad/Niger/Sudan
• Robia, daughter fo the prince of Tazahkstan
• Sofia, a mercenary who we met before on the way back fom rescuing Harald. She was acting as body double for Amyllis, a princess. Bears a grudge.
• Sparrowhawk, daughter of the king of Armenia
• Tapuyen, daughter of the Emperor of the Tartars of Lao
• Therigatha, a nun from a Tibetian nunnery
• Udaya, daughter of an Indian king
• Xantha, a centaur princess from the Greek Islands. She didn't know humans existed until kidnapped. She has heard of the Island Party, but thought it was merely a rumor.
• Zara, sister of the queen of Palamut, a nation in Africa.
• Zuleka, formerly one of the Daughters of Allah, made flesh when Harald spoke her name.

Bonus maidens were Khrosa, a patchwork girl from America who attacked and was killed by the party, and Penthila, a girl who had been turned to stone. We left her in the castle.

Note that Chiyono and Pharat speak no language that anyone else in the group knows. Look at the list and you will realize that means they are from somewhere either very very isolated or a very very small group of people. Hal may realize that Chiyono can communicate by writing with Huiling.
