In Crete, a pair of them laid beside the ruler in the Palace of Minos.
In India, they live in ore-rich mountains and once carried Alexander the Great in a basket so that he could explore the sky.
In Bulgar Territories, they serve as the symbol of the Bulgar Zar Simmian.
