The name translates as "forsaken by God". It is what the Arabs call the blue-skinned elven nomads who live in the North African deserts. The nomads call themselves "the Free People", a term the ancient elves used for themselves. They have been abandoned by their gods due to an ancient King, known by the heriditary title "The Son of Tin-hinnan". This king fell in love with a human woman, and he traded the Mark of Power, a magical Ankh, to the human king Menes, son of the Scorpion in exchange for the woman. As a result the king's wife and son plotted against him, and the son tried to murder the father in his sleep. Keral Nethariun would not allow this patricide, and he stopped time and exiled the royal palace in a pocket dimension. The remaining elves were abandoned by not only their Elven Gods, but all gods. Thus clerical magic cannot affect them at all, or be used in thier presence.
