Pygmy

A race of halfling-like men in the middle of Africa. They constantly war with various birds, which they call in Arabic cranes, because in ancient days their Queen Gerana was turned into one as divine retribution for excessive preening. This prompted a falling out.

They also fight with storks, because storks think they're babies and try to carry them away for delivery.

Instead of or in addidtion to eating, they subsist by smelling poisoned fruit.

Their name for themselves is something like Toa.

Prominent examples include Farthrower, a local chieftain, Stoneskimmer, a priest, and Cranedodger, Ailyll's friend.
