The Pope heard that a local nunnery was really a bed of evil and undead, so he decided to assemble a party and go hack a dungeon. Of course, there was recently an attempt on his life, so he is going incognito, without telling all the cardinals and such. He brings with him Richard, son of Odo and a creepy high-level priest of unknown alignment named Johannis. Also the Papal Bulls, large fire-breathing bulls with the rear of fishes. They love gold, it is said. Johannis brings one of those prismatic-spraying stained glass men. These intrepid do-gooders go around in the exoteric areas of the nunnery, scaring the poor sick nuns and making a mess. After wayyyy too much dicking around they descend into the crypt, where even more dicking around follows. Johannis keeps trying to get evil past the Pope, with lines like "Look, we can fire trap the door leading into the crypt because only a bad nun breaking the rules would open it, and she'll deserve to get cooked," or "There's all these skeletons around here, I'll just animate some and use them to set off traps". This guy seems like he probably gets along well with John Cresentius Jr. Anyways, there are a lot of traps that just set off Continual Light, tons of cats trained to eat spiders, and dungeon walls and floor that consist of layers or stone and wood. They learn the latter when trying to Stone Shape and Stone Tell. It's kind of like this dungeon was made by someone who was really afraid of clerics coming after them...and spiders...and thinking that those clerics wouldn't react well to light. Weird. Johannis says it well: "I'm not smart enough or knowledgeable enough to figure this out." Finally Richard's lion locates a concealed door, and the party gets to go down into the esoteric crypts full of undead and jive. They face some ghouls and such, and turn them all to dust in short order. What else awaits them?
