In ruins three's always a crowd
May 18 4:00 PM
Seems I'm always writing these at 4:00 lately (at least by CMT). We're right in the midst of things so I'll try to make some of the more incidental stuff quick.
1st: Can dreams at Norwit or Halcyon or something. I don't know. Maybe Can knows Jesus--that's how he likes to communicate a lot of the time. I should ask him.
2nd: Tulpe's back! he is an Eagle now. I like birds, and I liked tulpe. Does this mean I'm in love?
I made 11 bean pastes (thought I gave 1 to some poor kid in Bagdad. I hope he remembers how to make the paste and feeds the poor there. These beans from C-town grow all over the place)
Also, Tulpe was wearing some old Irish leaf armor that Gwyn has now. He's flipping out in that way he does about his old god stuff. I'm a little disappointed. I always thought he was a weirdo for wanting to become one of his gods, but that made him interesting. Now I just think he didn't understand language that well. He seems to think that the clothes make the deity, and that is not so.
So anyway after all of that was done we went to some place called tease-a-faun. Well, we went to Baghdad where we were spied on by a flying black-gold lion with flowers in it's hair. It left when we saw it--I think to go west. We got a boat from there, and the boat keeper told us that the caliph's ring finger was cut off, and afterward the advisor to said caliph became more powerful. I had been wondering if islam was really another jesus thing or some evil thing, but now i'm convinced that it was a jesus thing because the same thing is happening to it that happened to christianity. Really, the dude needs to do a better job of choosing who gets to lead these groups. I guess he's started picking his friends more carefully now that I'm on his side.
Anyway, we go to tease some fauns, but we meet this rainbow wolf instead. I like this guy. He loves where he is and he's just sitting there--like I was in my tree. He makes us promise not to build things and gives us a lovely tour. (Someone told me he was a senmerv--parent of a pheonix.) He also tells us that there are two dudes hanging around who hate one another. They're both crazy he says. I think he's right, after talking for them--but I'll let you be the judge.
The first one who speaks to us is curryon. He says that this guy with four heads killed his brother and then left allah after promising he wouldn't. Because of this, he wants us to kill him, and he'll give us some weird wish if we do. Sounds dicy to me, but the DG like dice, so who knows.
The other guy is marash. He hangs out right under the arch with four bears that i guess ruin magic weapons for laughs. We spoke to him after we found out that his sword had some names of god on it (he also has a magic mace named namer. I like maces and Gershom was nice enough to give me his that I think it would be great if we could trade something for it. We're in a desert, so I'll bet he would take my fresh water for it. Well, it's not mine, but i'm holding it). Anyway, this guy basically said that he was a follower of Zoroaster, then a guy came along and was like, stop that! He did, and then his life was terrible, so he started again. Seems like a reasonable enough fellow. He doesn't want us to kill him because then he'll have to kill us, and he doesn't like to kill. Another reason to like him.
Anyway, after we chat with these guys it's time for us to dream at Halcyon. He's surrounded by some black people and he's pretty drunk. He's going to get some sword fixed that I don't know about and everyone seems upset. He's at the pantaloon saloon or maybe the petalment? I don't know. The devil's brew that stuff is. The DG are just as bad at picking their pals as Jesus. It's good that they picked me now too--definitely turning things around. I'm bucking all kinds of trends here.
Anyway, then we sleep and Arben wakes up hyperventilating. I guess he had a dream about doctor stupiforous. Norwit told him to contact Arben.
We're trying to do too many things at once. Maybe i'll go sit on some ruins and pretend they're a tree.
