Displacer Beast

Feline-like creatures which have six legs, as well as two tentacles attached to their backs, which they use for melee purposes.

The Byzantine Envoys encountered them in the Lost Elven City. In the Elven days, and later in the Roman days, these beasts seemed to be the arbiters of justice. If one survived combat with them, one would be innocent. If one did not, one had already been punished for his guilt.
