Firing into Melee

Our rules for missile fire launched into melee are more forgiving than the official rules. We play that, when firing into melee, a normal to hit roll is made; should it hit, fair enough; should it miss, a second to hit roll determines if the missile strikes whoever is in melee with the target. (Should more than one person be in melee with the target, random selection determines who gets hit.) Since the person in melee with the intended target is usually a friend, the firing into melee can lead to hard feelings and long term resentment. Like that time Dan shot me in the back in Cyberpunk.

Casting holy water into melee is popular because it tends not to hurt one's allies when it accidentally hits them.
