Into the land of the White Ghost
Harald hears that Yodit has sent some envoys on a special mission to the Arab lands, so he decides to follow them and find out what is up. The rest of the party gets a head start on traveling throught the jungle to the City of Silence, except for Saiiq who stays back to guard the Maidens. Harald finds that the two envoys are really on a secret mission to blow up the Kabaa and the Black Stone of Cybele. He wishes them luck and returns to pick up Saiiq. Tired of walking, Harald cast Chariot of Sustarre from the Book of Infinite Spells and they ride it North until they find the party.
Meanwhile we travel through the jungle. Ailyll befriends one of our ape-man guides, Kennerath, and discovers many new jungle creatures. We encounter Ceridwen and her party who, upset by our attempts at blinding them, attack us viciously. Upon realizing that their opponents speak Welsh the party is able to communicate and negotiate a truce. We learn that the Welsh Party, like Ailyll, seek King Maeredydd Owain and his daughter Asthira, who are rumored to have passed through these parts. Ailyll agrees to pass along any information regarding Maeredydd's wherabouts, and we part our seperate ways.
Now that everyone is together again it seems like things will be fine. However, the crazy animal attacks only increase. The party kills a yale then gets attacked by wild boars. After killing a few boars a herd of elephants charges us, 6 in total. The elephants are really tough, and they wound most of the party members severly. Things look grim, so Ailyll casts Wall of Thorns from her staff, entrapping most of the elephants for a bit. The party runs while Harald stays behind to hold off the elephants. He is pleasantly surprised to learn that the [Whip Sword of Yemen]] can cut the legs or trunk off of an elephant, and even more surprised when he turns the tide of battle and sends the surviving beasts running. The party reassembles and rejoices before resting under a Wall of Ice hemisphere helpfully conjured by Harald.
However, as luck would have it their rest is interrupted by Ceridwen. She tells us that her party are enthralled by a hypno-tree, and she fears they will soon be eaten. In addition, she mentions that she is totally worthless, since she can't fight unless she takes "The Oath that Binds", which help much when you have to take out your friends in nonlethal fashion. The part finishes resting and healing up, and then it is off to fight the damn hypno-tree and its minions. Mamun does a great job of sneaking up on a jaguar that the tree has posted as a guard, and he takes it out with the help of the party. Even though the sentry was removed silently the tree sends out the rest of the Welsh Party and we beat the stuffing out of them. Harald almost kills Aeron, but he is saved by a Glovy. Adel burns down the tree with a Flaming Sphere, and everyone is happily returned to their senses. We put up another dome and all huddle together under it, trying to rest.
Unsurpirsingly our rest is interrupted again, this time by a giant rhino crashing through the wall. He doesn't manage to trample anyone, though. We all jump up to fight, and see a boalisk, a giant eagle, another jaguar, and the White Ghost. Before we can get a good combat going Ailyll recognizes that the white Ghost is her erstwhile charge, Asthria. They make up and and Asthria says her father brought her here along with her mother's corpse in search of Ayesha and the Flame of Life. He was apparently quite mad, and died of dysentary in the jungle. Ceridwen seems pretty pissed off when she hears he is dead, and the rest of the Welsh Party isn't too pleased either. Seems they want to wack him themselves. They promise to take Asthria back to Wales, and she gives us some good advice about jungle survival before we part ways.
