Karp is a reasonably tall Bulgarian man, with resplendent and bushy beard, heavy eybrows and stern frown (most of the time). Little is known about him or his past except that he is a Bogomil and that, while he seems to generally have the right idea about things, his reasoning is invariably battier than a Carpathian castle.

The Problem with Plants
Narrated by Karp
So I'm taking for granted a few things that most folks don't agree with because they've been told the wrong thing since they was little, right? But once you're set straight and you think about it, then you get where I'm going. Okay. So The True God created the spiritual world, right? Oh, hush, don't interrupt. Hear me out. So everything of the light and ethereal and spiritual was created by The True God, and then Satanael tried it himself and created the physical world, okay? Hey, I didn't ask 'right?', I'm just laying it out for you.
So Satanael, the Creator, made the physical world but was stuck at the last. It could create the physical bodies, but it could not imbue the bodies with spirit, with The Light, because it is not the True God. In the end the Light, to redeem the world and show Satanael the error of its ways, gave us our souls.
Satanael burned with shame and envy for this, and has ever since sought retribution on us, to bring us back under its sway, to keep us focused on the mud and dirt and slime that it created and not on the light that is all that we know of the True God. Satanael's latest weapons in this are the life that the creator never blessed with spirit, the plants and mindless creatures of the world. These creatures are not, universally, Satan's, but since they have no glimmer of the Light they are the closest thing it has to its own. And so we see the 'intelligent' plants, the mobile vegetation, the plants that even, as with the man in the swamp near the temple, infest our earthly remains and reanimate us in a semblance of true life.
So I don't have anything against your average forest flower any more than I have something against rocks or dogs or water... all are the creation of Satan but not his tools. But then there are the plants that are his tools. And these he has set against us in what I have heard whispered to be a war upon us in the near future. It is to be a final uprising of the plant world and the mindless creatures against any creature with a ray of the Light. You can see its proof all around-- from the activation of this forest to the will of Satan to the mindless destruction of our ancient ruins by vines and creepers to the greatest threat we face now, the Sea Vines.
You may think this last utterance crazy, but believe me, if you had seen one you would not doubt. There are creatures in the oceans, great bloated seed pods of evil, with a single head and eight vine-like tentacles reaching out from it and a great woody maw between them. They can even spread darkness to blot out the light around them in the water! Mark me, is that the behavior of a creature of the light? These fell creatures are the predators of the plant-filled oceans, living upon all that comes within their grasp and waiting for the approaching day when they can dig their roots into the soil and claim the land, using the darkness they spread to separate our mortal bodies from the light within each of us so that the world will once again be the sole dominion of Satan. They are the vanguard, the apotheosis of Satan's verdant menace.
Why the Full Moon is a sign of the creator
This is a lot easier to explain that the case against the plants. So Satan, the True God's greatest angel, created the physical world, right, and created us, but couldn't give us The Light. Similarly, the moon, the greatest of the heavenly bodies, shines at 'full moon' with the reflected light of the sun. There it is, brilliant in the darkness as a faux-sun, impressive only in the absence of the true light. And, as the rest of Satan's mortal creations, it waxes and wanes, it is born, lives, and dies in a mortal cycle. At the height of its 'life' it is brilliant, outshining all around it, but only with borrowed light and only for a brief time before it passes on.
