Talk:Inscription on the Monument to Philip II outside Thessaloniki

In light of what is suggested by Olympia's Confession, I would suggest that, hangman style, the letters beneath the inscription here are meant to read:

   Nectanebos was Ikkulu

But who would write such a thing? And why?

Gershon seems to have passed this way. Who else might have?

Further, if it was Ikkulu who took Philip's eye, it is possible, even likely, that one of the three eyes we took from the Tomb of Stratoniche is his. Whose are the other two?

And what did they gain by sacrificing them?
