The Danger Gang Investigates Some More Around Rome
After a good night's rest, the Danger Gang awakes, ready to find these missing Cat People. Ezio casts Comprehend Languages on the map they found, finding it marked with notes like "Gold", "Cats-Danger", "Dwarves" and "Civilization". They still can't tell where it is referencing. They stow it away for later. The Circus asks around, and some neighbors saw people leaving the house for Rome yesterday.
Lleryn tracks some cat prints (that seem to be dragging something to the Via Thaminia, where they turn North. Soon they head off road where they find the tracks leading to where a boat appears to have shored. The dragged object appears not to have been dragged here. They follow the river back down to Rome.
Once there, Karl asks a couple rats if they saw anything, they said they saw some Cat People change over to a larger, seagoing vessel, though they can't exactly say when. The Circus de Jerkus agrees to head south towards the sea, while the D.G. is heading north to see if they can find out what was being dragged.
They hike back up river and Lleryn, surprisingly, is able to find the tracks again. They lead to a boarded up well. Kotrag dives down and finds a small metal man with ripped up clothes. Inside a hatch on his chest they find a coat of arms of some sort. Karl picks the little guy up and they hoof it back to Rome.
They try to find out what the deal is with those Jews they got mixed up with before. They swing down to the prison, and it turns out they were released. Their release note was accompanied by another note, which read:
(Omega), I gues you were right, the names are important after all. I owe you a Coke -G d'A
Well, nobody knows what that means, and so they're off to their next destination. They try to get some Freemason's to deliver some mail for them, but the guy they have on guard duty is pretty cagey. They decide not to push it. Next stop, the Library. The library recognizes the crest on the inside of the robot as that of the House of Salerno. Very interesting.
From there they head over to the Crescenti's house, with hopes of getting a little more info on what Salerno might have to do with all this. They're manservant shows them to a drawing room and tells them their hosts should be joining them soon. It is then that they hear a hunting horn blow. They're all in agreement: fuck this. They go to leave, but the door is locked. Luckily, they have master lockpicker Karl Shinyhands with them. They get out of there lickety split.
It seems Rome has turned against the Danger Gang. They return to the Tigriss and tell Kolya to sail south. They camp out for the night off the coast of Livinium. Their rest is interrupted by a trio of Spectral Centurions, all of whom are mouthing...something. They are dispatched without too much trouble.
