The Danger Gang Learn More About Doracheon
The Danger Gang finish up their repairs for the snakes of the church. The snakes are very grateful, and the king snake (who's name is Gjarper) offers up a candlestick as a bonus. Since we've been such stand-up guys (snakes don't meet a lot of those), he decides to give us a heads up. He's pretty sure that there's something weird going on in Doracheon and they sent the Danger Gang out there so that they could get cursed by the snakes to become ladies. They also Kukuth is in town and is guarded by a fanatical priesthood. He's not entirely sure what's up with all that, but they could talk to The Earthly Beauty and Baba Tomor; an old bearded man on a mountain. He also says people have been leaving Doracheon for about two years, so things have been kind of bad news for a while.
They go back to town to track down Pellum the priest and clear up this snake stuff. Marty fronts the snakes the extra 650 gp they owe. Then he Charms Pellum to see if they can find out what the deal with this town is. First thing they find out is that there's more to this Pellum than they thought, as he brandishes a knife to show that he has Marty's back, buddy system style. Then he tells him that there are three Kukuth and they sacrifice a woman to them in this town once a month on the new moon. The woman is determined by lottery.
Everyone agrees: fuck this. They pack there bags to see if they can interview this Baba Tomor character.
As they leave the church, Martialis is approached by man named Lart. He is a snake druid (a druid that was born a snake, not just a druid of snakes).
"Let's DUEL!"
They begin their fighting. For some reason, Marty always wants to settle this with violence. Lart's high wisdom gives him the advantage in the higher level spell department, but Marty ends up taking the day anyways.
Afterwords, the two of them sit down for a hearty glass of morning dew or whatever it is that Druids drink and start shooting the shit. He tells them bits and pieces about Ilerya (the Earthly Beauty, John Vladimir, Lake Prespa. He also advises them to not say anything bad about the "beautiful forked-tailed ones", whoever they are. The Danger Gang takes his advice to heart, and everyone parts ways as friends. The Gang hits the sack.
