Hanali Celanil

Goddess of grace, beauty, love, patience and comfort. She is most often addressed by the lovesick or grief-stricken, or those who seek forgiveness for their misdeeds.

Of all the Elven gods, most elves believe that Hanali Celanil is the one who most directly intervenes on their behalf. It is thought that if one pleads for long enough with absolute devotion and perfect resolve, she might answer the prayer by melting the heart of the supplicant's object of affection, or absolving a petitioner's guilt or shame. It follows that the goddess is considered the patron deity of lost causes, and that she is thought to give every heartfelt request her attention, no matter how ridiculous or unreasonable it may be.

She is often pictured as bathing in or sitting beside an elegant pool, the waters of which allow her to see those invoking her name below. Philters decanted from this pool and given as gifts by the goddess have a rich tradition unto themselves in Elvish mythology, inspiring, alternately, love at first sight, drunken revelations, philial reconciliation, or selective amnesia.

The representational arts, particularly sculpture, are considered sacred to her. She is thought to hate arrogance and is often given credit when an unlikely confluence of events brings a haughty elf low.
