Rescue the Brotherhood, Multiple Sea Encounters
Ailyll gets a sudden feeling that the goddess Artemis is about to appear, so we've got to head back to Nemi as fast as possible. Harald and the rest of the party take off on the boat to rush towards the meridian, meanwhile Ailyll stays back in greenland to try transporting via plants.
Ailyll manages to find the very last surviving tree in Greenland and makes it back to Nemi well in time to find Artemis tending Fatima as she goes into labor. She takes the opportunity to petition Artemis to allow the Green Man to enter non-lethal combat to be replaced as King of the Wood, since lethal combat with an immortal is not exactly sporting. Artemis chastises her for her foolishness and explains that the King of the Wood is always immortal, and really we should be able to figure this out. Artemis fills Ailyll in a bit more on the history of the island. Orestes first brought worship of Artemis to Nemi, where he built her a statue and became the first 'Viribus', or Green Man. Al-Khdir mentions that the King before him was a thief and a murderer but could not recall his name. The birth goes smoothly and Fatima and her adorable terribly evil half-man son stay in the garden to rest.
Meanwhile on the boat Saiiq communes and learns that Ailyll has already accomplished her mission, so they need not join her. We also learn a bit more about the tournament and who plans on attending. Harald scries on our rat friends again and sees them this time imprisoned in a castle of ice, along with the rest of the brotherhood. The party prepares and then teleports in, ready for a fight. The castle is indeed transparent and full of cat mages, but we are able to hold out for long enough to gather up the rats and free our friends. The cat men fireball the base of the tower we are in, toppling it over. Leila teleports us out moments before we come crashing down, and we all land safely on the boat.
The Brotherhood of Purity fill us in on their adventures thus far - they had sailed as far as Greenland, fought masses of cat men and eventually been overwhelmed. They also tell us a bit about the Turtle Temple in Shri Lanka. It contains no teeth, but there is a tooth in the Sacred Footprint of Adam in Sri Pata. It's a good place to hide things because you can't leave if you are holding anything you didnt bring in with you.
We continue on towards the meridian so we can bring the Brotherhood back home. We are attacked by an enormous snake, but are able to fend it off without too much trouble. We try to rest but halfway through the night Godzilla stops by to say hello and munch on some sailors. We fight for a while but are doing poorly so Harald teleports off to fetch Ailyll. She Heal's Harald and they come back fresh and ready to fight, just in time to see him slink back off into the waves. Ailyll sends some sharks to pursue but they don't ever come back. Ailyll summons up some eels to replace the sharks and we settle down once more to rest. Mere minutes later we see some turmoil under the waves as a giant squid comes and starts fighting the eels. They are dragged helplessly to the depths as we make our escape. Finally we are able to complete our rest.
The next morning we scry on the Muslim Party and see them rescuing wounded elves and clearing away rubble. Harald takes the Brotherhood to Fez with the mission of preventing the phantom blot from entering the Quingu Tournament. On his way back he teleports low and finds that nasty squid waiting for him under the boat. It squishes him unconscious but the rest of the party are able to come distract it just in time. Ailyll breaks Harald's succor stick in his hands, sending him to the elven lands and the party finishes of the squid. Leila teleports us with the wand right to Harald. The elven lands have been horribly blighted by the black cloud of vengance. Ailyll scatters seeds and casts plant growth in an attempt to start rejuvenating the land, and we head off to find Rahish and the Caliph.
