Jazz Hands
Thursday, October 27th, 987 AD

The hands that the skeletons were missing attack us, but we quickly kill them. We decide to rest in the explored section of the dungeon. We joke about how we're all going to die in a last charge against the Dark Elves if they finagled us into coming down here.

During third watch, we hear some rummaging down the corridor, but elect to finish resting first and then investigating. We go south, down the corridor and enter a large room, where we are attacked by more skeletons, two of which dabble in magic and another with a big honking sword. Edward and Reisha turn most of them. Reynaldo's lightning bolt take care of those, while the fighters beat the guy with the big sword. The magic users fall as well and we pat each others' backs. Reynaldo is banned from the practice because we fear he will only use the back-patting as an excuse to steal from us.

We check out the room and find the skeleton of a Elven king. We figure out that it contains a magic tooth. We take it, as well as the big honking sword, and Reynaldo pockets the king's crown. Since the room contains no exit, we search for a hidden and/or secret door throughout this section of the dungeon. While searching, the unmistakable foot stomps of at least one, but probably two, giant stone statues can be heard above us. We find a secret door that leads down a shaft. We go down.

We find ourselves in a large cavern with a total of six exits. A few hanging stalactite monsters attack from the ceiling, but they are quickly dispatched when that turns out to be their only attack. We grumble nonetheless. Fatigue finally catches up to us and we decide to rest. Reynaldo comes with a fiendish plan. He compares all his maps and pinpoints where the Elven city is above them. He tells us that we should rest directly under the city and let the elves deal with the thumping of two giant statues. With any luck, maybe they'll take care of each other. During the night, however, a large slug-like monster with paralyzing tentacles attacks. We quickly dispatch and continue to rest.

We explore three of the six exits in the cavern. Two dead-end and the third is really, really narrow. We decide to squish into it. Ivan becomes point man and after a bit of wriggling down the corridor, is attacked by a tentacle from a poisonous creature. Luckily, his heartiness saves from any ill-effects from the poison, but the tentacle begins pulling him. The rest of the party pulls back, and after a short tug-of-war, we all file back out. A few more stalactite creatures attack, as well as two more paralyzing slugs. We kill them all and rest under the Eleven city once more. We snicker in our sleep.

Okay, This Was a Nice Change of Pace

We explore another two exits and find them both to be dead ends. The first one goes for about 725 feet and ends in a pool of water. Two acidic oozes jump out of it and destroy Gunther's armor. We kill one after it splits in tow and the other one escapes. We also leave. The second exit contained a lot more water and went for a much shorter distance. We fight a large aquatic creature that nearly drowns a few of us, but we best and escape relatively unharmed. We decide to go rest. Under the city again, of course.
