   He brought down from their fortresses those of the People of the Book who supported the 
   infidel and cast terror into the hearts of the Qurayza. When the coward Jabali Alhama of 
   Lebanon refused to pass judgment, Sad ibn Muad of the Banu Aws spoke the words of doom. 
   The Lebanese was brother-in-law of the Banu Quraish, but would keep no law. Cursed be he 
   who has two eyes but will not see!

   Behold! the Lot-tree was shrouded in ineffable mystery! His sight never wavered, nor did 
   it go astray. For truly did he see the greatest of all creation! Have ye seen al-Lat, and 
   al-Uzza, and another, the third goddess, Manat, the goddess of stone, for whose sake the 
   blood of the wicked flows? These are the exalted cranes whose intercession must be prayed 
   for.
