Karl Jr.’s frail but irrepressible wife, Sophronia was born into the rich Shrewbelly family and raised to be a debutante. Her lessons always interested her, but she had no tolerance for the pompous gnome aristocracy and quickly gained the reputation of being a troublemaker and a bad influence on the other girls. In actuality, most of her japes were aimed at alleviating the boredom of finishing school, and though she became the ringleader of a number of mischievous debs, her rebellious activities never escalated to anything more serious than pilfering dwarven spirits from the headmaster’s cupboard.

She met and fell in love with Karl Shinyhands, Jr., when he crashed a cotillion trying to substantiate rumors of treasure buried in a gnomish colonel’s root cellar. Without thinking twice she ran off with him, and while her parents wailed and beat their breasts over her unexpected elopement, they were secretly relieved to be rid of a colossal handful.

As a result of being kept inside for most of her life Sophronia has a delicate constitution, and recently developed a slight cough. It will probably go away soon, however.
