The Danger Gang Auxiliary Has Some Questions For Habogad's Disembodied Skull
Upon Martialis's return to Chrysopolis, Eorl gathers everybody around so that they can all ask the late Habogad a couple of questions. Marty shoves some incense in the dude's nose and the following questions were asked:
Patricius: Where did you hide the good rum? I mean, how did you become reconciled with God?
Habogad: I remembered Job 41, and realized that Ormaz created Araman.
Arben: Since your death, have you learned anything that you think we should know, vis-a-vis the end of the world
Habogad: Since my death, I've learned not to sweat the small stuff.
Eorl: What would you have told the Morkoth, had you been in our shoes?
Habogad: I would have kicked his ass, but failing that I would have told him he can't be such a fence sitter any more.
Patricius: Seriously, where's the good rum?
Habogad: I distributed it to the poor.
That wrapped up neatly, they ask Norwit if he's willing to trade the drunkard Patricius for the Bardas Phocas supporting Presuntinus. Norwit agrees, despite Patricius's grumblings. Arben successfully influences his reaction, shutting him up for a little while.
This is good, as Arben is assembling his crew for the dreaded Taramul Kalalalt run, and a priest is what they'll chiefly need. He also grabs Xenon, as he'll definitely need some muscle. Cyril goes where Xenon goes, so he's in. Wirshin is also in, anxious for the opportunity to meet with papal candidate Gebertus. Eorl agrees to send out Olybrius Radenos of Eorl's Thief Takers to lend a little more magical support.
Arben tells B the Beholder that he's in charge of the inn, then loads up his hearty crew into Captain Eustwice's boat, the Iris. They set sail, knowing full well that they will return more victorious than any one else, ever.
