To the Necropolis
Early the next morning we try to explore the rest of the Mound of Shards, but it is too broken for us to enter. Instead we follow Thuteyie's invitation to the lighthouse.
The inscription over the lighthouse entrance reads:
"Sostratos son of Dexepenes erected this to the savior gods for those who sail the sea"
We chat for quite a while, and he offers us a dubious-looking dish that maybe isn't brains which most of us eat out of politeness. He tells us that Rabbi Zombrase has been asking about us, and directs us to Ysette Nofrett in the Necropolis for more information. Apparently, in her spare time, she's an idolatress with a thing for snakes.
He also tells us that the cross over the door of the lighthouse was fished out of the Nile after being used to crucify Habercomes, a Greek from Eplesas.
He was talkative for an old elf and also told us that Alexandria is currently patriach-lessand told us the story of the bad blood between the Jews and the Romans in town. Lots of the demons we've been encountering in the desert may have been released by the Sicarii with the suicide blood of Judah bin Halika. The demons were rounded up by Antony...or were they??
We also went visit and chat with Philathios the Coptic Pope of Alexandria. He was impressed with the Abuna's use of the ark to resurrect Mamun (awesome) and would like to chat with him, with us as an intermediary, about the divisions in the church. He thinks that Abalyas is lame and...something about his predecessor defeating ibn Killis in a debate...
We return to the boat to rest and prepare. Ailyll gets the feeling that the others are conspiring against her, so she poses as Cleantha and casts Wall of Fire around the others as they attempt to ambush her. They eventually beat her down to a negative and put out the fire before the boat sinks.
(...Ailyll was unconscious and doesn't know what happened here...)
We chatted up Rabbai Za'kai and he told us: A part of the ark still resides in Egypt.
On the morning of the 26th we head off to the Necropolis to talk to Ysette Nofrett. After turning our offer to barter for information, Nofrett attacks us with her worshiping hordes of were-jackals, undead and human followers. Agav goes straight for the mummy and the rest spread out to attack her and her followers. The apparent Nofrett goes down with startling speed, and we quickly catch a woman disguised as a follower casting spells at us. After subduing her and her followers, she agrees to answer our questions in exchange for our sparing her life.
