Towards India
We fight around against the snake in the basement then Pass Wall up to the Abbey proper. We show the abbot what we found and warn him about the presence of an Octopus nearby. The scroll is addressed to Don Xong Sho Xu, it says "Hey, give me what you owe me or else. This jerk thinks I'm writing all the information but no way until I get it. I'll just let it hit, don't think I won't." The penmanship is extremely good.
We then scry on the Ayesha and travel back to Cairo.
In Cairo we are re-united with Ailyll, who has just given a stirring speech and is now very popular in Scotland. She raised her standing stones successfully and flew back in an awesome flaming chariot cast from the stones.
We check in with Ibn Killis, they fixed things up in Jerusalem, at least for now. Under the stone there was a four-legged stand holding a cup, from which the water flows. They did not catch a glimpse of the name of God written under the stone.
Next we head North down the canal via Bubastis. Af-Af knows of a temple of Gautana in Nagapattinam. Bogawatti is the diamond-lit city of snakes. Kadamba, descendents of the Naga, were an Indian dynasty. Their last king was interred in Bogawatti north of the Konkin coast, on the west side of India. She also identifies the potion of muskrat blood - it causes contagious biting.
Madurantaca was the one we spoke with before about negative numbers. We scry on Naranvahanadatta, Emperor of Sorcerers, and Gerbertus, but get no answer.
Teleport to Minorah, near Karachia, then fly the chariot to Somnath. We talk to the temple folk and ask if they can find us a local guide. We also ask about Ladderlad. Local guides are hard to come by, since the danger for outsiders is different than the danger for natives. Drat.
Ladderlad hasn't been around for a while - he killed someone's son or something and left.
Finding the human-gained information insufficient, we commune with mighty nature, talk with some turtles, and learn the following:
- Waves Kissing refers to the Vadavenalla, an enormous fire under the sea which passes by every 50 years or so. It causes the tides in the Indian ocean, and passes over the golden city of Mahabalapur under the sea. It burns you to pieces, but also makes the water warm and teeming with life. It last happened about 10 years ago, and goes south.
- No Dragon Turtles in the area, but they sometimes follow the Vadavenalla, and are on the Indian Ocean encounter table
- There are lots of cool animals in India! Look at the diverse bird population! There are also leopards, tigers and other pretty kitties.
- The wisest bird around is probably the owl
- A long time ago things get confusing, like something horrible happened around here
- India becomes dangerous when you cross the Chambal (river of blood). It and a few other bodies of water form a barrier to protect India from the outside.
- There is a turtle temple of some sort to the south
