Maggie- I think we should do this without the tables and all that because this way is much easier to input and correct currently inputted characters.

Kerry - No, it looks crappy without the tables. Why not take SOME advantage of wiki editing? In any case, you can make it look however you want, no problem. If people want to use this template here, they're more than welcome to. Frodo's description is just an example. The information at the top is really what information should be entered.

Maggie- The point of having standards is so that each character page can be done on the same format. If you use the template you have to reinupt all of the information. Also, there is alot of stuff that we don't know for a lot of characters, ie stats. Also, the navigation bar is appearing on top of the page in my browser.

Kerry - I'll change the top of the page to not use tables so people can copy and paste that thing. Maybe we don't need a format for layout, but just guidelines of what kind of informtion people should provide? After all, that's the only thing that's important (and character pages will vary greatly - Eorl's gonna have a giant biography written about him, while J-C has 3 lines). But I really like the table for stats (Str, Int. etc). Which navigation bar are you talking about?

Maggie- The bar with the octopus logo and naviagtion likns and stuff. Everything on the left side of the screen.

The problem with using the table for stats is that we don't know the stats for so many characters, and many people won't put them up. I am making most of the NPC character pages, so I want a format I am comfortable with and that is easy to use for everyone. We already put up the vast majority of the characters in the campaign, so I don't think we should introduce an all-new system. With my format you can just move info around.

Kerry - uhm, if you want a format that's as flexible as possible, why enforce it? Why not just let people use the wiki as they've been using it? I mean, you're the one who came up with mandatory fields - that doesn't really make things flexible.

Maggie- When I say flexible I mean a format that is easy to apply to the listings that already exist. I want to update all the NPCs, and my PCs, to this format, so I don;t want to have to cut and paste a large list of text and then write over it. It would be nice if everyone else does likewise, because then anyone can know that Gregoria is a half-elf, for example, or that Helgi was a fighter/thief.

Kerry - Cool. I put your format at the top and saved my example character page below. This should be a good compromise (and stop reverting my changes, punk!)

Maggie- I'm a jerk?!? YOU keep changing MY page. I decided to do what everyone else had been putting off and write a standards page. You're just using the fact that you are admin to enforce your ideas, which is way jerky. Finally, your page isn't even viewable on my machine!
