Help:Contents
This wiki is the same wiki as used by the Wikipedia. Please refer to Wikipedia's Help Page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Contents for information on how to edit pages in a wiki, markup information, etc.
But here's some notes anyway:
It is useful to put a summary of changes in the "Summary" box under the Editing box. This summary will show on the recent changes list.
Note: wiki allows you to link to one page while giving it a different title on the page you're linking from. For example, if you want to link to page about the (Old Party) but you want to say (those jerks who started it all) on your page, you can do it as follows:
(Old Party|those jerks who started it all) those jerks who started it all
If you are signed in while making changes, the wiki can track what changes you made. This is super useful if you're trying to see who made what changes, for example Halifax made these changes:
http://www.maggietron.com/questwiki/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&target=Halifax
And Maggie made these changes:
http://www.maggietron.com/questwiki/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&target=Maggie
I'm mentioning this because since we can track how much people write, we could maybe use it to goad Halifax into giving us more glorious XP.
Some notes on using the wiki:
- To add new pages to the wiki, simply modify the URL to add a new title. For example, a new page titled "Test" will be created if you use the URL format below:
From here, you can click on "Edit" and add whatever text you want to the page.
- Deleting pages can only be done by the administrator. As a general rule, deleting pages is not recommended. Instead, deprecating pages is recommended; if you no longer wish to use a page, please say so in the page and direct other users the pertinent information.
- Creating a user account is recommended as you'll be able to set preferences to see the correct time for your time zone and be able to manipulate other nifty settings.
