Saving the New Born Phoenix

Just as Harald is about to take on Lord Evelake in the Final Round, a bunch of birds fly up and start landing on Harald, jabbering away. Themistoclea helpfully uses her mathematical speak with animals ability to translate. It seems the birds are calling in a favor that Harald owes them after Pazuzuzazz helped square things between Harald and all birds, ever. The Phoenix was all set to rebirth itself, but the normal spot was unavailable due to some sort of jive. So, they went off to the Egyptian desert, near the Bent Pyramid. Just as the phoenix was doing it's self-immolation thing, a weird giant tentacle came out of the ground, grabbed the phoenix, and went back under. We have to get it out.

So, we get into the pyramid and fight a living board. Super exciting. We go into a room that houses a very cold, very hairy giant demon. We take him down. Then we proceed to the basement, where a ridiculous enormous clam shelled monster with many, many tentacles sits, blissed out on phoenix energy from the baby phoenix in its belly. We power up and attack, and furious battle ensues. Saiiq gets swallowed whole, but Harald leaps into the mouth of the monster to save him. We kill the beast, and free the phoenix, who tries to get out of Dodge without so much as a thank you. Quiteria grabs some feathers on the way out, and we praise her quick hands and quicker thinking. Then it's back to the tournament grounds!
