The Danger Gang Begins To Think Samothrace Is A Bust
After a few hours resting in a hole, the Danger Gang decides to get back to action. Martialis casts Invisibility to Animals on himself, Abner, Arben, Gershom, and Karl. They head back out to see if that lovelorn goat-headed Sphynx is still out there. He is not. They take this opportunity to look around the other buildings in the valley. Most of the buildings are all falling apart. One has a few oil lamps lying on the floor, from which a total of zero genies emerge. One building looks very much like a beehive and has a hole in it that ends up leading to the Auxieros tunnel complex. The other party members sure were surprised to these guys. They tell them they're almost done. They go inside the Giant Bee Hive, but are dissappointed to see there's only giant bees. There's not tomb or doors or nothing. Marty steals some Royal Jelly.
They gather everyone up for a little more resting to prepare for another go at the wall. Marty Augeries to see if Can should set up another Secure Shelter, but the big tree says no dice. So they spell up and prepare to head down. Karl rolls a few large rocks down the sluice into the room to try to give them some kind of cover. "Kodmelos, have mercy on us!" the wall cries out, but the Danger Gang is sure the cries for mercy will go unheeded. Arben Summons some Orcs and some Germelaines to try to draw some fire, then Abner leads the charge. The plan to draw fire works, as before they reach the end of the sluice they are hit with a Lightning Bolt. It instantly frags all the summoned monsters and does a bit of damage to poor Abner. He presses on bravely, however, and leaps to the floor, hucking Magic Stones at the wall. The others are right behind, all armed with Gershom's Magic Stones or plain old magic. They're doing some damage, but the wall releases another deafening ribbit, leaving Abner and Can reeling and unable to act. Arben tries to shoot out some Magic Missiles, but they hit a Shield spell and have no effect. Everyone grumbles. They keep hucking mundane stones at it and it keeps shooting arrows. Fortune begins to smile on the boys as the Wall runs out of arrows. They stand laughing at it, but then Karl gets snatched up in a Telekenesis spell. He flies towards the wall, his high-pitched laugh turning to a high-pitched scream. The wall chops at him and a Slaad hand with a little orifice on it scratches him, but Marty changes into a lion and pulls Karl away in his mighty jaws. They take cover behind a rock. Karl picks up another couple of loose rocks and chucks them at the wall. The wall crumbles. A cry of joy errupts from the party. Behind the rubble, they spy a rotting old door.
"I thought they'd never shut up," a voice cries from the other side. No one is quite ready to find out what could have lived behind this wall for who knows how long, so Marty stone shapes over the door. Can builds a secure shelter and they get some rest.
